Customer Stories

A yurt is just the starting point -its your imagination that builds something unique! Our years of experience with layout, lighting, and atmosphere is always part of the conversation with our customers. It’s that shared collaboration, conversation, and thoughtful design that has made us a part of so many builds over the years ranging from backyard retreats to fully immersive themed environments.

What We Built, Together.

Mobile Art Gallery: Michael Beckwith Fine Art

When abstract artist Michael Beckwith needed a way to bring his work to outdoor events without losing the “gallery” feel, we linked two yurts together for the perfect solution. The paired yurts allowed for a clear gallery-to-checkout customer progression without breaking the experience, while the lattice and rafters provide built-in hanging and mounting points for panels, paintings, signage, and lighting - freeing up floor space and keeping the setup clean and flexible. Together the yurt made for a unique presentation: part studio, part exhibit, and fully mobile.

“The yurt turned my booth into an actual gallery - people stepped inside and stayed to browse.”

Luxury Event Installation: NJ Wine & Food Festival

In collaboration with UEM Events & Design, we helped bring the “Moroccan Nights” themed after party at the NJ Wine & Food Festival to life! A custom double-doored yurt served as the dramatic entrance to the entire venue - functioning as both a statement piece and a high-impact photo destination for guests and creating an immediate sense of atmosphere & anticipation.

Hundreds of lanterns were suspended throughout the structure, and beyond it, transforming the yurt into a glowing introduction to the experience. Our lantern collection and select furniture pieces were also incorporated across the broader venue, tying the atmosphere together from the entryway to the after-party lounge spaces. The result was not just décor, but a cohesive environment - complete with fire dancers, layered lighting, and a carefully curated mood.

“The yurt, as an entrance you moved through created an instant sense of ‘arrival’ at the event. Our guests took SO many selfies!”

The Backyard Studio Retreat

One client came to us wanting something more than a shed or spare room - they wanted a flexible, seasonal retreat for writing, painting, reading, and slow summer dinners. Together, we designed a 16' yurt as a creative studio that could open wide to spring breezes and glow warmly during long summer evenings.

Using the lattice itself as structure for shelving, hanging plants, tools, and textiles, we helped shape an interior that felt intentional without being cluttered. A writing desk by the mesh window. An easel tucked into natural light. Low seating and layered rugs for relaxed evenings. The yurt became not just a workspace, but a ritual space - somewhere to think, create, and reset.

“It feels like stepping into a different state of mind. I don’t just work in the space, its where I reset my thinking.”

From Yoga Studio to Meadery Venue: A flexible farm Yurt

When John and Nina had plans for their 6 acre homestead farm they envisioned more than just a structure, they imagined a sanctuary for their many passions. Their yurt was at first a dedicated yoga studio space where Nina taught in-person yoga classes & streamed sessions online, surrounded by draped fabrics, candlelight, and layered rugs. Built atop a custom deck, the yurt created a grounded, intentional space for movement, breath, and sense of peace.

Years later, as their farm evolved into a craft meadery and private event venue, the yurt evolved with them. What once hosted yoga mats now welcomes intimate weddings, small gatherings, and seasonal celebrations. The same circular space that once held meditation now holds toasts, vows, and shared meals. The structure didn’t change - their vision did, and the yurt adapted beautifully.

“Their team is helpful, thoughtful, responsive. They only want to see you enjoying their creation, especially as the yurt has grown & evolved with us.”

When Sara reached out, she the goal wasn’t “buy a yurt for fun.” - it was way more personal than that. She wanted to build an outdoor living room for her aging father, a veteran who had become largely homebound but missed being outside. Together we designed a fully custom 16' yurt with a navy blue vinyl roof and completely clear vinyl walls so he could see his landscaped backyard, the trees, and the deer wandering through - all from a comfortable reclining chair. This yurt wasn’t about “owning a yurt.” It was about giving someone a piece of their life back - fresh air, sunlight, in a place that didn’t feel like a room in their house. To be surrounded by nature but still comfortable.

The space was fully carpeted and outfitted with a projector so he could watch movies surrounded by the scenery. It became a daily retreat - part sanctuary, part man cave, part memory-making machine, and we’re honored we got to be part of that.

A Backyard Living Room for Dad

“We really love the space and use it daily. You made this happen. Thank you.”

Vendor Booth:
Wandering Rose Creations

Nanci and her daughter Rebecca of Wandering Rose Creations turned their yurt into a traveling storybook shop. From floral garlands woven through the rafters to framed artwork and jewelry displayed directly on the lattice walls, they’ve embraced the structure itself as part of the aesthetic. The yurt wasn’t just shelter - it became their backdrop, their gallery walls, & their built-in display system.

From the beginning, we worked together on layout and flow and how to make the most of the vertical space. We designed their setup with a double-door entrance for easy customer movement, and they positioned their checkout desk just inside the door to naturally create a subtle “back room” workspace behind it. The result is an immersive, cohesive booth that feels intentional from every angle - and one they now bring to fairs and festivals across the region with confidence.

“We stopped bringing so many displays & racks - the yurt became the structure for everything.”
