Policies & Warranty

Deposits and Payments:

All yurts are built to order, A non-refundable deposit of 33% of the total invoice balance due (or a higher percentage for customorders) is required to begin production and secure your place in our build schedule. Because each yurt is individually constructed to each order’s specification, deposits cover initial material purchases, workshop scheduling, and administrative setup. For that reason, deposits cannot be refunded under any circumstances once paid. Custom orders for other products may also require a deposit at the discretion of Traders of Tamerlane (LLC).

Deposits are non-refundable. However, if customer cancels an order after placing a deposit, a credit for the amount of the deposit may be applied toward a future purchase within one year of the original invoice date, subject to current material pricing - after this time, all credits are forfeited

Upon build completion, the remaining balance and any shipping charges must be paid in full before order delivery or pickup can proceed. Customer will be notified in advance the date of their build completion approaches. Any unpaid balance must be satisfied within 30 days of build completion. Orders not paid within 30 days of build completion may, at our discretion, be resold, restocked, or placed into storage / assessed storage fees and deposits on such orders are forfeited, unless otherwise stipulated in a payment agreement or contract agreed upon by customer and Traders of Tamerlane LLC.

We offer no-fee payment options via check, ACH, or cash incur no additional fees. Credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee.

Shipping & Storage:

Shipping costs for items requiring an initial deposit (generally yurts and other large items) will be billed with the remaining balance due. Otherwise, shipping will be billed along with the initial purchase. Shipping will be calculated based on the address of the recipient, whether an in person pickup or delivery is requested, and final weight and size of the product. We are located in central New Jersey and attend many events in the NJ/ East PA Area. event delivery or in-person pickups may be scheduled when possible. Large items cannot be shipped to PO Boxes. Customers are encouraged to contact us for a shipping quote prior to final payment.

Orders placed into storage at the request of or due to delay by the customer are stored at the customer’s risk.

Returns:

New products suitable for resale may be returned within 30 days of purchase with the original receipt or invoice.

Items must be unused, unmodified, unstained, and returned in original packaging with all accessories and documentation. Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the purchaser.

For yurts and other large products, return authorization (RMA) must be obtained prior to return shipment. Unauthorized returns will be refused.

Returns after 30 days are not accepted. Custom-built products and discontinued items are not eligible for return.

Larger items, including yurts, may be subject to a restocking fee, determined during the return process

Production Time:

Customers should allow 3-5 weeks for the construction of yurts and other large items. Production time can vary due to orders pending, materials in stock, and other factors. Please be aware that late spring/early summer is our busy season, and may result in increased production times as described above. Orders are constructed in the order in which they are received. Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) will periodically update the customer on the status of their order, and estimated completion date. In cases where an order must be completed by a certain date, Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) strongly suggests ordering well in advance of that date.

Rentals:

Renters must sign a rental agreement and pay the full rental fee and security deposit before delivery. Customer or a designated agent must be present at the site at both delivery and pickup. Shipping is available at the renter’s expense, and no rental fees accrue while the yurt is in transit. A security deposit is required to cover any damages and will be refunded upon return of the yurt, minus applicable repair costs.

Rental cancellations / refunds will be honored as follows, based on the scheduled delivery date on the invoice:

Cancellations more than 20 days before the delivery date: Full refund, including security deposit.
Cancellations between 20 and 10 days before the delivery date: Refund of the rental fee, but NOT the security deposit
Cancellations less than 10 days before the delivery date: NO refund will be issued

We reserve the right to alter our default rental cancellation / refund policy present above, on a per event basis. In such a case the cancellation / refund policy presented on a customer’s rental agreement and invoice will ALWAYS override those presented on this page. Large scale, yearly events (Pennsic, DrachenFest US, etc.) will ALWAYS have their own separate rental terms. Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) reserves the right to refuse a rental order, and will refund all fees in such a case.

Yurt Warranty:

All yurts and yurt components are covered under a 4 year warranty, guaranteeing that they are free of defects in materials or workmanship. This does not apply to defects found to be due to negligence, mishandling, improper care or storage or modification, normal wear and tear, or catastrophic damage whether any of the above be intentional or accidental. Items or components may need to be photographed, inspected, and/or returned to Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) in order to determine its eligibility for replacement under the terms of this warranty, at the discretion of Traders of Tamerlane (LLC). Should an item need to be repaired or replaced due to a valid warranty claim, the purchaser shall be responsible for any shipping fees incurred in repairing the defective item or parts, but labor and materials charges will be waived. Yurt components that have been deliberately stained, painted, cut, shaped, or otherwise modified by the customer may not be eligible for replacement, at our discretion. Replacement components of yurts may not be the same color as the components they are intended to replace. This warranty is not transferable in whole or in part to any party not listed on the original purchase invoice.

Canvas by-the-yard Warranty: 

Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) will replace any canvas found to be defective, as long as it is found and returned before any cuts or alterations are made. Return shipping will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Once the canvas has been cut or altered, Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) can take no responsibility for its condition, and will not be held liable for any defects, nor will Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) make any refunds or replacements. Please inspect canvas thoroughly before altering it in any way.

Warranty - Other Items :

All other items are covered under a 30 day warranty guaranteeing that they are free of defects in materials or workmanship. This does not apply to defects found to be due to negligence, mishandling, improper care or storage or modification, normal wear and tear, or catastrophic damage whether any of the above be intentional or accidental. Should an item need to be repaired or replaced, the customer shall be responsible for covering any shipping fees incurred in returning the defective item or its parts. Traders of Tamerlane (LLC) shall be responsible for covering any shipping fees incurred in returning repaired or replaced goods to the customer.

Design, Use & Installation Policy

All design elements and proprietary structural components are the intellectual property of Traders of Tamerlane LLC and may not be reproduced without written consent.

Our products may be used in commercial, rental, festival, or event environments at the purchaser’s discretion. However, Traders of Tamerlane LLC shall not be liable for any loss of revenue, event cancellation costs, business interruption, or consequential damages arising from weather conditions, improper installation, third-party actions, misuse, or environmental exposure.

Unless Traders of Tamerlane LLC is explicitly contracted for installation services, the purchaser is solely responsible for safe installation, anchoring, supervision, and ongoing site conditions. It is also the purchaser’s responsibility to verify compliance with local zoning, permitting, fire code, and structural regulations prior to purchase or installation.

Environmental & Weather Condition Policy

Our yurts are portable structures designed for adaptability. They are not permanent foundation-anchored buildings and are not intended to withstand extreme weather events unless specifically engineered for that purpose. The purchaser is responsible for appropriate site selection, anchoring, snow management, and weather-related precautions. Traders of Tamerlane LLC is not responsible for damage resulting from severe weather, flooding, extreme winds, snow accumulation, or other environmental factors.

Force Majeure Policy

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, supplier delays, transportation disruptions, labor shortages, societal disruption, pandemic, or government action.
